Dodge City, June 25, 2017: This weekend, a group of Dodge Charger Daytona owners met up to cruise the streets of Dodge City. This is the second year for their meet-up. They spent the weekend enjoying our Kansas hospitality and even gave something back.
Over 25 owners from across the country and Canada came with their cars to visit Dodge City. On Friday, they showed off their cars and they spent the rest of the weekend cruising and building relationships.
They enjoyed their visit so much that they decided to give back. They took a collection and donated $231 to the Meadowlark House Child Advocacy Center to assist in their work protecting abused children in our community.
The Meadowlark House opened in 1999 to provide a safe location for interviewing child victims for law enforcement and Kansas Department for Children and Families investigations. They also provide ongoing advocacy to these families.
The Meadowlark House facilitates a team of law enforcement, social workers, prosecutors, mental health and medical providers, school counselors and advocates to ensure that these children receive the best care possible.
The group plans to come back to Dodge City again next year and hopes to bring some snacks and other supplies to help the Meadowlark House. If you are interested in ways you can help, please contact the Meadowlark House at 620-789-0396 or check them out online at www.meadowlarkhouse.org.
